Which one are u?

It was 11.45PM – I was checking my personal mails, FB, IMDB etc., and getting ready to have a sound sleep after 12 hours of tiring work @ office. My cell phone vibrated- just realized that I haven’t changed the profile yet.. It was a friend of mine (has to be a boy for obvious reasons) without hesitation I took the call and started “Hey solluda” On the other side – it was a silence for few seconds.. I said “Hello” again… and then he enquired whether I’m free and also asked if he has awaken me? That triggered me an alarm… this isn’t his normal tone… I figured out that he was totally down… and was working on how to break his silence.
I set my brain to thinking mode!! to figure out what could be the probable reason for him to call me at this time of the day and that too with so much hesitation inside him…. Bingo!! the result took less than .17 seconds!! Better than Google isn’t it? Today was the day of his results and from his tone everyone could easily guess what the result would be.
Now let’s imagine two probable conversations that could’ve happened! (limiting to two in the interest of time )

Conversation 1:
Me: So how is life da?
He: (Silent)
Me: Dey – are u there?
He: ya da.. very much!! I’m just existing and doing nothing else!!
Me: wat happened da!
He: Got my results – and guess wat – I failed again this time.
Me: Are you serious? That’s bad da!! I really don’t understand why the institute is creating such a fuss to maintain the pass percentage and punishing the deserving candidates.
He: Hmmm – I’m glad that at least you are with me – my parents are scolding me like hell!! I dint feel like having anything for dinner – really can’t face my dad.
Me: I understand.. Your dad always hunts for a reason to scold you and now u have given him one
He: Hmmm
Me: Bloody he should sit and read all these things and only they he would know how difficult it is to pass these exams..
He: I really can’t take it anymore da – this is the third time in the row and I did it decently this time.
Me: Leave it– it happens – June attempts are always the toughies – November should be really easy and you’ll crack it this time
He: thanks da
Me: Then how is Anitha?
He: Ya… she is fine… even she dint eat anything tonight..
Me: Bad… cheer up people.. Success is on its way for u guys.
He: Thanks da… I really feel relaxed after talking to you….
Me: Antime da..
He: K da – will talk to u later – else my parents will shout at me for this as well..
Me: K da – bye

Conversation 2:
Me: Wat da? Resulta?
He: (Silent)
Me: Its gone right?
He: (Silent)
Me: I knew it long back – you were more concerned about IPL results than yours!! And how do you expect to pass?
He: Hey!! Stop!! You know what – pass % is only 3.2 – now don’t start giving gyan like my parents
Me: Bloody – don’t blame the institute for your inability!! And stop talking about your parents – if I was in their place – I would have never paid fees for the 3rd time. Failing continuously for the 3rd time – aren’t u ashamed?
He: I did really well da – seriously!! It’s the institute which has failed me purposely
Me: (Before he could finish) Shut ur mouth – Don’t start the blame game – Why don’t you tell that your pencils lid was broken on the day of exam and that’s y u flunked!! That sound’s more convincing.. Idiot!!
He: (Silent)
Me: Tell me frankly how many hours did you put everyday into study for the last 3 months before your exams?
He: hey I really I studied well da!!
Me: Don’t lie – I still remember what you did on those 3 months – Except for the last week before exams you hardly studied. You just kept roaming around, playing tournaments for your useless local team, watching all new releases, hanging around with ur g/f
He: (Angrily) Hey stop… don’t pull her into this..
Me: My god!!! I guess except for this – u r totally insensitive to everything.
He: K da .. I’m hanging up the phone.. bye!! (phone clicks)
(Calling again)
Me: Hey!! Why did u disconnect the call?
He: I don’t want someone else to scold my g/f for no reason
Me: Take it from me… you’ll never pass next time as well
He: Ya.. My fate!! You have passed in first attempt rite.. so I have to listen all these gyans from you
Me: Now you are turning it over me is it?
(And the conversation continues for some more time)
He: Ok da… I’ll definitely crack it next time.
Me: Hey buddy wait !! Don’t hang the phone!!
He: Wat da?
Me: When is the treat for this result? (giggling)
He: !@#$@#$ @#$#$@# #$@#$@
Me: Ok buddy!! Good nite!! Take care!!
(Phone clicks again)

Hmmm… Now which one are u? Come on – there are no correct answers and you don’t have to be politically correct (Atleast on this one).
The first one is a friend.. the next one is a true friend;)

Reunited

At last my "MIGHTY BEAST" is back and the reunion by itself is a big story…. It’s been close to two years now since I left to B’lore for work and last week suddenly a thought popped up in my mind to get my Hunk here (Did someone plot that in my mind? – probably the INCEPTION effect )

It was a 350Kms ride and I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to do it all by myself and hence took help of Diwagar my roomie. Its actually difficult to convince some one for the tiresome ride but fortunately I was saved from that task!! For diwagar is a bike freak!!

Hmm.. so it was a 350Km ride and the ride was fully filled with vivid colours of emotions…

Happy:
I was happy that I’m gonna be back with my beast. From now on I could ride it every day to office; go on local trips every now and then, the very presence of it besides me makes me happy. I don’t have to bother about my beast staying all alone in Chennai fully covered up most of the time, batteries getting drained, stained with mud-dust all over its body... shhh that’s not gonna happen any more
[Duration: From the inception of the ride and continuing till now]

Excited:
Excited to take the beast back – driving all the way to b’lore – from Chennai!!
[Duration: From Sunday morning till 5.30 PM]

Pride:
Ahhha!! Now I can lift my collar proudly amongst my friends circle!! I’m the first to hit a 350Kms ride.. (Girls please excuse – It’s a Boy thing)
[Duration: Will last till someone beats my record!!]

Scared:
We started from home @ 5.30 PM – so we know for sure that we would reach b’lore only by mid-night – It was completely dark by the time we reached Ranipet – And unluckily we opted to go via Chitoor – Kolar by-pass – B’lore route. Trust me that’s the scariest route I’ve ever travelled through.. it was not a double road, no median, no lights and worst part is that the road wasn’t in a very good condition. What would happen if the tyre goes flat? – that was our worst night mare!! Luckily nothing happened!!
[Duration: First few minutes of riding into the narrow roads of Chitoor]

Envy:
Throughout the travel we witnessed many cars / suv’s that passed us with lightning speeds – especially two notable ones!! A BMW 3 series and a Fortuner – wish I could own one of them
[Duration: 2 * 2 = 4 minutes in total]

Cautious:
My bro met with an accident recently and is recovering slowly – so I got strict orders from my dad that I should post him the status every hour – I called him on every break we took. Moreover after seeing the agony and stress my bro has undergone – I was a bit cautious while driving.
[Duration: Throughout the ride]

Thrilled:
Last year few of our friends went to pondy on bike – But since we went as a group we agreed upfront on some ground rules – No one to speed above 100Kms and no racing!! But this time I was all alone and easily touched 105Kms and 95Kms on average!! Diwa even touched 110 – 115 mark once. But we weren’t able to do good speeds due to the poor road conditions with potholes, speed breakers and peoples crossing every now and then(Chitoor – Palamner) – It was really thrilling to ride at 105Kms
[Duration: As and when my speedometer shows 100+]
Pleasant:
It was a very pleasant view - the scenic beauty of the hillsides at night light (moon light). Especially the road between chitoor and Kolar Bypass. The cool breeze – the moon light – the scenic beauty – Racing @ 100Kms – No words to describe!!
[Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours between Chitoor and Kolar Bypass]

Tiring:
Despite the fact that the ride was joyful, I have to admit that it was tiring to some extent!! We decided to take few breaks – I started the ride from home and after 100Kms we braked for tea in Ranipet - And from there it was Diwa’s turn – another 100 Kms – we braked somewhere between Palamner and Kola bypass(somewhere in AP) – relaxed our legs and hands a bit and were back in track – this time it was me – another 70 Kms – and from there diwa took it till the end.
[Duration: No problem while sitting at the back – During my turn – the last 20% of my ride]
Fear:
We started the ride from Chennai after filling the tank to its full capacity and somewhere in chitoor (To be exact – after 236Kms) my hunk started to hiccup and realized that its gonna go to the “reserve” mode. My calculation was that we could easily go another 80kms without any problem as the bikes reserve capacity is 2.2 ltrs hence I ignored a pertrol bunk that we crossed immediately when the bike turned reserve – Another lesson learned!! 50kms done – no petrol bunk sighted yet – 60Kms – Still no – 75Kms – No!! it was 11.30 types and I started to convince myself to face the worst – luckily after 78kms we saw a Indian oil petrol bunk on the other side of the road. We had a sigh of relief only after refilling the tank for another ₨300 – B’lore was still 50Kms from there.
[Duration: the last 25Kms of the above 78Kms – Around 40 min]

Funny:
This is really funny – We saw two cafĂ© day coffee shops (Yessss the authentic CCD) on the highway – one somewhere in outskirts of chitoor and the next one near the kolar by-pass highway. The funniest part is that a few petrol bunks were already closed by 10.00PM while these CCD’s were on till 11.30. I was able to recollect one of viveks comedy – “Yaarumae illadha edathula yaruku da tea aathringa?”
[Duration: Lasted for few seconds while crossing these CCD’s]

Irritated:
One more reason why you should not take the chitoor route – that too during night time – Atleast for the next few months- The road from Kolar-bypass to B’lore had atleast 25 “Take Diversions” and am not exaggerating!! It was really irritating – we were not able to do good speeds in that road. Looks like there are planning something big for the road – But right now it’s totally not advisable to take this road during night!!
[Duration: The entire stretch from Kolar-Bypass to B’lore]

Hmmm.. there ends the travel!! reached B'lore safely and hope to ride soon.

Dope!!

"Requiem for a Dream”
This isn’t a movie review – Just the impact of the movie on me!!

A lively young man losing his hand……
His friend spending rest of his life in jail….
Girlfriend turning in to a whore…..
Mom becomes psychic …..

And there is one thing that connects them together - “Drugs”.
Addiction being the core theme of the movie, I was fighting very hard not to get myself addicted towards the movie… but now I stand here helpless …. trying to express my thoughts. That’s the kind of impact it has on you…

Strictly not advised for the ones in depression… This will further pull you into it. And also not for close-minded people. Coz I really hate to hear the comment that it’s a “Sick movie” from any of em.

Being a smoker myself I’ve always felt the rush… the itch… the urge… the compulsion in my mind to buy one of them and puff it out real quick!! I could easily correlate the struggle the characters face to get a dope!! Controling it is an art and i’m not gonna claim that I’ve mastered it... Never had a friend who is a Dope!! Not even in college!! And hence no sad memories to recollect…

Another worth mentioning thing here is the sound track.. Especially the theme music... It kind of melts you down... brings out the required feel perfectly for every scene...

Time is ticking – Learn from it – Don’t get stuck in the same place!! Change!!
